Here are 2 things I didn’t know yesterday, which I wanted to share with you. If you have anything you want to add, please do so – it’s always great to get feedback.
Twitter unfollowing trend is set to continue
Since blogging about Robert Scoble unfollowing his Twitter followers, I have had a lot of feedback. As well as the comments on the blog, I have had people emailing me, a few people calling me and even a blog post featuring me.
I’ve been told we are going to see some more well-known Twitter users doing the same as Scoble, over the coming days and weeks. Maybe even sooner!
MarketingProfs feature
I wrote a post recently, called; “How to sell against cheaper competitors” and was blown-away to see it used in yesterday’s MarketingProfs newsletter. With around a third of a million subscribers, it was exciting to get the opportunity to reach so many new, great people.

Its one of the things I love and simultaneously hate about working online and in the social media and internet environment. You never stop learning.
Just when you think you have it sussed it evolves again.
Grats on the marketing Profs post Jim, nice one!
Hello Justin,
Firstly, congratulations on your great news this week!
You are right about how quickly things change these days. The only thing constant, is the state of flux.
Hi Jim, you were the first to mass unfollow back in Jan / feb, which wsa incredibly brave and couragous. Now many are following your lead, and tht includes me..
I did a mass unfollow yesterday, and am really glad that I did it.. and thanks for the chat as well..
if you want to read about why I did my mass unfollow, then you can check out the link below

Congrats on Marketing Profs, Jim – that’s a major kudos for you to be included, these guys know their stuff and hope you get a bunch of new converts because of it!
The only thing I’m curious about is how much of the bulk unfollow is happening just because Blogger X did it, or Marketer Y, or A-lister Z, you know?
Great if it’s something you really feel you need to do (although there are far bettwe ways to cull numbers than bulk unfollow). But if you’re just doing it to join a trend and maybe “make a name” for yourself for a short time… I don’t know, some of it just seems a little planned..
Hey ho
Hello Danny,
Thanks. Regarding the high profile users unfollowing their twitter followers, yes, in my opinion it is planned.
However. I believe these people are genuinely doing it for the right reasons.
Planning their departure in advance probably makes it easier for their followers to accept.
I dont think any of them are doing it for publicity. Of course, i could be wrong.
