Funny how the simplest of changes can have a huge impact eh!

The one thing that I need to get better at managing is my email list (I've done a poor job of actively recruiting subscribers, and following up). I'm much more consistent with new posts but it was nice to have that email exchange back and forth between readers :-)

Hi Susan,

Yes, I do blog on wordpress, using a theme called Headway. I know how to get that box to appear using headway, (because you can do stuff like that without going near code / HTML) but have no idea how to do it on regular blogs.

If you send me an email to jim (at) jimsmarketingblog.com I will send you the code used to generate the box. You will need to figure out where to insert it (or <a href="http://www.headwaythemes.com/affiliates/idevaffiliate.php?id=372" rel="nofollow">upgrade to headway</a> of course).

Hope this helps.

Excellent point. I am experimenting almost every day with small changes to my blog to see what happens. Speaking of which, How do you add a box as you described to the bottom of your blog page? I'm new to Wordpress and can only figure out how to add a "plug-in" to the sidebar, but not the main page. Are you using Wordpress? I like your email collector... i may need to switch email software!

You just simply have to remind the users that you've got a valuable product for free if they sign up to your newsletter. It's worked very well for me in the last few days as I've just recently done up my own ebook.

Good to hear from you Toma.

Is it the plug-in that I use to collect email addresses that you are asking about? If so, it's called the sendblaster plugin. It's easy to use and works really well. Hope that helps sir.

I see so many companies making massive changes, which often provide a very small return - when they totally overlook the small stuff. Thanks for the feedback Tom.

Thanks Vincent.

You're right. The shop in question had a sign before, but the sign never requested people to 'come in.'
