Time to say thanks!

Sometimes the comments on my blog posts are better than my original post.  Although this blog has attracted thousands of comments, there are a fairly small number of people, who regularly contribute here and always want to share useful, valuable ideas and feedback.

This got me thinking – Surely it’s only right that I thank the regular contributors in public, for the value they consistently share with my readers and myself?

So, in no particular order, I would like to thank the following people for their generosity and inspiration. Please take a moment to check their sites out!

I’m pretty sure I LOVE everyone on this list – “THANK YOU!”

If you found this information useful, just think how much more successful your business can be, with you & I working together on your marketing! To see how I can help you attract more high quality clients or customers than ever before, read this!

    Jim,

    This means a great deal to me. I feel that I extract so much value from you, but don’t really get to give much back. So this lets me know that in some way, I’m giving as well as getting.

    I must say, hats off to you, for your continual sound advice and willingness to help at every turn. As I wrote to you the other day, the time that we’ve spent talking greatly helped me when I was at a real cross roads in my work.

    So, thank you!

      You’re very welcome Sarah. I think it’s important for commenters to know how valued they are in the development of a blog.

      Without comments, a blog becomes a broadcast, rather than a conversation.

    Jim, the mention means a lot to me. Rather than repeating Scott Gould’s kind (and accurate) comment I will suffice to say “Cheers, and the next pints on me!” and am looking forward to your future posts!

    Heartfelt Thanks Jim.

    That’s still two more comments from Seth than I’ve ever received… ;-)

    What a great way to recognize the community around your blog, Jim. Sure, you can have blog rolls and they are your endorsements, if you like. But thanking in this manner? Classy (Valeria Maltoni would be proud).

    Cheers for the nod, my friend, very much appreciated. I know a fair few folk on here, but the others that I’m unaware of, I won’t be for much longer.

    PS – that Justin says “the next pint’s on me” to everyone, it would seem – I’m still waiting on mine… ;-)

    Scott Gould has put it perfectly. What you provide goes beyond information. It encourages ideas and sparks off implementation – so I’m not surprised so many people enjoy posting on your blog :)

    Jim, you stand as a clear leader in your ability to add value to people and their businesses. One day, I would love to deconstruct specifically just how you do that, but it’s clearly evident to me that you:

    a) really value people;
    b) pay attention to the details that are important to others;
    c) walk the talk – your words ARE your actions;
    d) are humble – a quality of great leadership;
    e) communicate with people i.e. hear them and respond to them.

    There’s much more, Jim. So thank-you. It’s great to be included and recognized as part of your valuable and growing community.

    Here’s to your unstoppable success.

    Shine on, Jim.

    Robin :)

      It’s funny Robin, but although the buzz-term for community building right now is ‘social media’ it’s really just the ‘social’ part that matters.

      I think bloggers often fail to acknowledge the value of the people who comment on their blogs – beyond the bland; “you guys rock” statements aimed at everyone and thus aimed at no one. I wanted to do something more visible.

      Thanks as always for the feedback.

    Jim, thank you for your generosity! I comment on your blog and the others that I do because they have great content, add to my world, and help me grow or see things in new ways.

    I went to a Chamber of Commerce lunch yesterday because the topic was Embracing the Digital Marketing Age. For the most part, I agreed with the speaker and easily identified with most of his presentation. The room was packed with about 60 people or more.

    As I sat there, I thought I’ve had the greatest education in online business marketing and networking. It came from people I value, people like you, Jim. Thank you for being so open and sharing. This Thanksgiving I wish you and yours every blessing!

    Jim, Thank you so much for taking the time to thank your readers. I was tickled pink to see my name listed under amazing people. It’s not very often that someone take the time to make mention of their readers in the way that you did, and It says alot about you as a person. Here recently I’ve grown so tired of quite a few bloggers only worried about racking up as many comments as possible regardless of their quality. You can always tell when someone values and appreciates their readers and when they don’t. These bloggers that are only worried about the numbers game will always lose their readers to the bloggers who maintain the quality readers they had since day one:)

      In my experience Toni, bloggers start off DESPERATE for people to comment on their blog. They take time to join in with the comments and make their commenters feel valued.

      Then, their blog takes off and they forget WHY their blog became popular. They only occasionally reply to commenters and become less ‘real.’

      For me, the bottom line is that a blog without comments is simply a website; a way to broadcast. Comments from people is what makes a blog an online community.
