I was listening to some people chatting yesterday, about their New Year’s resolutions. It seems that just 23 days into the New Year, every one of them had broken their resolutions. This is not uncommon. The queue to use the equipment at you local gym will be getting smaller right now, just as the queues at your local Kentucky Fried Chicken get longer!
This got me thinking: How many of us are still on target, with the resolutions and plans we set for our businesses?
The ability to make a good decision, and then see it through, is one of the master skills of business success.
However, as my mentor Jim Rohn used to say, even if people could keep the doctor away by just eating one apple each day, most people wouldn’t!
Why not take a moment to review your business plans and check if you are still on target. Those plans you made deserve the opportunity to fly. You need to give them wings, by ensuring you take action to see them through.
By the way: If you need some powerful, motivational help right now, this could be exactly what you need!

You know, I decided I wasn’t really going to start a “New Year’s Resolution,” but instead revamp how I think about getting things done.
I got a letter in the mail from myself the other day (seriously! It scared me…) that had a list of goals I set for myself in band camp over the summer. To my surprise, I’d actually achieved them! And I didn’t even know it…
So, I’m forcing myself to set one obtainable challenge a day that gets me a little closer to where I want to be.
Resolutions carry a certain sense of guilt…so do “goals.” Challenges instill competition and enthusiasm if they’re approached corretly. Sometimes you have to review your thoughts before you can start to review your business, right? Then again I only just started mine…
So I think I’m on track. ^_^ Someday I’ll leave a completely relevant comment…

Hi Corey. Looking at what you have already achieved, at such a tender age suggests you are the kind of person that gets things done.
People of action are rare – Kudos!
Why limit important decisions to New Years. I make them everyday, there’s never a moment to squander when it comes to sharp decisions.

I agree Mark. I think decisions based on New Year’s resolutions tend to be half-baked.
Still on focus although things seem to get hectic around me…
It sometimes takes tons of concentration to stay in tune with the rest of the group!
Thank You

Good to see you’re still on track Norman. Kudos sir!
Back at New Year, I was thinking I want to make something of my life, though it took me a couple weeks to figure out how. I’ve only been working on getting my new business started for a week and a half now, but so far there’s no signs of slowing down. A few moments of ‘What am I getting myself into?’, but I’ve managed to push past those. I’m nervous, I’m worried I won’t be good enough to be successful, but I’m not letting it stop me. If I don’t even give this a try, I’ll regret it forever.

Best of luck with the new business. Trust me, it’s the ONLY real way to enjoy job security.
If people break resolutions for a new year, why are they made?

People see the start of January as a clean slate – a new beginning.
Reality: It’s not a new year – just the SAME old year, which they relive over and over again.
Sad really.
Thank You ..
