You!

  • You should focus on what’s important to you, not that bastard that upset you.  Whilst you are getting angry, he’s out dancing!
  • You look better when you smile.  It’s the fastest and least expensive way to get a facelift.
  • You are almost certainly more talented, more admired and more loved than you think you are.
  • You will sell zero copies of the book you never write.
  • You will be amazed how good you feel, after you tell someone how much you appreciate them.  Your kind words may also be the only sunshine they get that day.
  • You can either get a day older, or a day better.  Each day the choice is yours.
  • You are able to improve any element of your life or business, which you are unhappy with.  It’s all about intelligent activity.  Get the information you need, then use it!

  1. Well said, Jim.

For 2011, there are two quotes that I’m going to try my best to live by:

    1) “If we keep doing what we’re doing, we’re going to keep getting what we’re getting.” (Steven Covey)

    2) “Whether you think you can or you can’t, either way you are usually right.”
    (Henry Ford)

    Happy New Year!

My staff tend to call me rubber neck, as I am always sticking it out and taking risks. In the lean times of staring a new business, they even hung a mini noose up as a joke. There was a new craze on the market, I ordered a thousand pounds worth and couldnt sell them. Three years later the craze took off again in the UK, I ordered another grands worth, they said I was crazy, we had a over a hundred of then sold at £70 each before they arrived for Christmas. I went on to sell 40 grands worth.
The noose has been taken down!
What always spurned me on, was that when I started the new business, someone nice to my face, said behind my back that I had taken on more than I could chew, thats all I needed to show them.

I now run the business from another country, and visit it for 3 days a month, and still take the same wage from it. OK my great staff run it. While I an exporing new avenues in business.

Somtimes I need a little push to remind me I can do more than i realise, reading Jim’s blog always gives me a little shove in the right direction.
