Who influences you?
The short answer is, everyone.
The slightly longer answer is, everyone you connect with.
The power of influence
It’s impossible to connect with someone and not have them influence you in some way. Even a complete stranger, who takes time out to smile at you as you pass by, will slightly influence how you feel. The voice on the radio, the lady on the TV, the guy who’s in front of you on the road, driving like an idiot; all of them influence you to a greater or lesser degree.
When people influence us, we change.
People who pass on a positive influence, enrich us. They leave us better than they found us. Their smile, their support, their kindness, their wisdom, their friendship and their inspiration make us more than we were.
People who pass on a negative influence, impair us. They leave us worse than they found us. Their frown, their sniping, their bitterness, their bad advice, their venom and their negativity make us less than we were.
The bottom line: Be extremely careful who you habitually associate with, listen to, read or watch. The right influences can help us be healthy, wealthy and wise. The wrong influences can leave us broke or broken.
