If someone were to check you out online right now, would the image they build be an accurate reflection of you? Would your digital footprint show them who you are and what you stand for?
Whether we are blogging, social networking, contributing to a forum or adding our thoughts with a comment on a blog post, we need to be ourselves. We need to own our words.
One of your biggest assets
In a super noisy marketplace, one of the most valuable business assets we have, is our uniqueness. Everything we do to stifle our true voice forces us into the background.
The good news? You already have the tools you need, to attract the right kind of attention and connect with people:
- You have a voice.
- You have opinions.
- You have a lifetime of experiences.
- You have a unique mind.
Use your social media channels to share what makes you unique. It’s the best way I know, to earn peoples attention and connect with them.

I love the idea of seeing uniqueness as a business asset. This was a very encouraging post. Thank you!
Hi Misty. How things have changed. years ago, we were socially programmed not to be the black sheep. Today, the black sheep is the only one getting noticed.
Wise words Jim. There’s a world of “ME TOO!” people out there and the more we do to express our uniqueness the more we stand out as ourselves.
Thank you!
Hi there Raj. You make a great point. It seems as if almost everyone in the same niche is saying the same kind of things. The exception to this seems to be those thought leaders in each industry, who have the courage to express their uniqueness.
Thanks for the feedback, sir.
Being authentic is lacking in our world. We perceive that others want us to behave, act and think in a certain way. We want to get into the good shoes of our prospects and clients by not being ourselves. However by doing that, it is the very thing that kills our business and our soul.
Being authentic and standing for ourselves in a chaotic world is the very thing that set us apart from the rest.
