In my experience, it pays to spend most of your time focusing on the elements of your marketing, which you can control.
In control
For example, you have total control over the development of your blog, website, newsletter etc. These are under your direct influence and if you do the right things correctly, you can make as much progress as you want. You can decide to improve your approach at any time, put new strategies into play and enjoy the results.
There are a number of reasons why every successful business owner has embraced this idea:
- It’s the pathway to progress.
- It’s extremely liberating.
- It places the future of your business in your hands.
Frustration
Then, there are elements of our business that are beyond our control. When we focus on these, we waste our time. It becomes frustrating. It zaps our energy and pulls our attention away from more productive activities.
Thankfully, we can choose to focus on whatever we wish. Let others waste their time wishing they could change the economy or turn back the clock.
You and me? We can focus on building for the future!
