Social networks are packed full of people who share famous quotes. They seemingly have nothing to say for themselves. So they decide to say nothing. Instead, they amplify the words of others.
They don’t get it. They fail to understand that if you stop sharing inspiring quotes and start doing inspiring work, one day, people might quote you.
Being a human amplifier for Einstein [or worse, some social media guru] sends 2 powerful signals. It either tells people we have nothing to say or that we lack the courage to say what we believe.
And neither of those position us in a positive light. Quite the opposite.
