Occasionally, a blog stands out to me as being extra special and when it does, I award it one of my rare ‘Highly Recommended’ awards. Today, I am highly recommending Seth Godin’s blog.
The Seth Godin Blog
For those of you, who do not already know, Seth Godin is a highly successful author, marketing expert and entrepreneur. However, it’s Seth Godin’s blog excellent blog that I would like to bring to your attention.
Seth’s blog is updated every day and primarily covers marketing. His blog posts are written for ‘real people’ not marketing experts. They tend to be short posts, thought provoking and always interesting!
Seth’s approach to marketing is very similar to my own, with an emphasis on building communities and delivering value – rather than pursuing people / business with marketing tricks.
As you may already know, I have worked in marketing for over 20 years and have run my own successful international marketing business since the mid 1990’s. In my opinion, you and your business will benefit greatly from a subscription to Seth Godin’s blog.

Cool post. It’s nice to recognize other blogs you like to let your readers know what you enjoy. I already had Seth’s blog in my favorite. I’m pretty new to blogging myself and think I’m hooked. I enjoy reading marketing and business blogs like yours and Seth’s. Regards
Great Blog! You are right, Seth has a lot of excellent content.

Hi Jim,
Just checked out Seth’s blog – great reading!!
Seth godins stuff is ok, but it lacks the step-by-step approach you often give.
I am always left wondering how to apply his stuff to my company. With your ideas, you explain what to do.
Hey there Jim
Thanks for the recommendation but I’m with the previous guy.
Godins posts are interesting and worth reading, but they lack the missing ingredient, how to actually “work the idea”.
Often times, his suggestions seem too good to be true. His idea that you only need 10 people to follow you and that these will make you a success by getting others to follow you.
It’s not that easy.
Some interesting comments here, thanks.
Different bloggers have different styles.
I actually like that Seth gets you thinking. I can see how some people, new to marketing, might struggle implementing his ideas into their unique business situation. However, it his idea plants a seed, which you want to explore, you will find plenty of marketing professionals, who can provide you with the tailored help you need.
I am a HUGE fan of Seth’s blog and also highly recommend it. His posts are often open ended but I think that’s the beauty of them.
It’s up to you to take action or expand further or move on. He’s getting you started, not doing it all for you.
I agree, the guy absolutely rocks it! What I value from him more than anything else is his “no bullsh*t” style of writing (excuse my language) and authenticity.
